Back To MY Gaming Roots

Was spending some time tonight looking in one of my drawers for something when I stumbled upon my favorite game series ever Unreal Tournament 3.My obsession started back in 1999 when the original Unreal Tournament Was Around I  remember my Friend Mentioning it to me he said “it’s like Video crack" and boy was he right. Instantly fell in love with the game and spent endless true marathon nights allot of the time starting at 9pm leading well into the sunlight the next day.



Instagib was the way I played the game which meant one shot kill. We played back then “last man standing “which would mean that you would start with let’s say 15 life’s and as you die your life’s total would decrease by one till there was the last man standing. We also did allot of "Arena style “you would square off facing your opponent shoot the ground once then go at it with the other player, to either you killed him or he killed you. Winner would stay in arena and next guy jumped in to challenge you till you died.



The other amazing thing is that unreal tournament actually brought my family closer together if you would believe it. At that time I really was not that close to my stepbrothers at the time. And I remember like yesterday Christmas Eve 1999 my family was together and I showed my stepbrothers [Gary and Doug] the game and they were intrigued by it. Well from that night on my Obsession became there obsession, even my Stepdad ‘Sir Fudge” would Join in on many of marathons with us. Our UT craze carried on through the next games in the series, Unreal Tournament 2003 (hilarious that’s when text to speech started the laughs we had), and 2004. (This had the greatest Map Ever December 24th)



As life went on kids have come life has changed but we have continued to still play games together to this day and I owe the relationship I have with them because of a game go figure. Though I don’t see them as much as I wish my love for them will always be Unreal tournament style =)
